Children Health Improvement and Literacy Drive ("CHILD")

Quota International of Iloilo, Philippines

Children Health Improvement and Literacy Drive ("CHILD")

CHILD was held every Saturday, rain or shine, and will culminate on August 18, 2012 at 1: 30 p.m. Since its launch, Quota forged a partnership with UI-PHINMA through its Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Jeanette B. Fabul, also a Quotarian. The literacy improvement programme spearheaded by Mr. Lyan Marc Peniero, Dean of the College of Education, created a meaningful interaction between selected B.S. Education students as mentors for indigent grade-schoolers. Quota International of Iloilo also collaborated with the Community Relations Office of Iloilo City Police Station 3 represented by PO2 AlonaLayson, Iloilo City Social Welfare and Development Office and Barangay Officials. By the end of its programme at Barangay Camalig, QI Iloilo served about 80 children for both its nutrition improvement and literacy drive. Quota aims to support CHILD and hopes to replicate its programme to a barangay in other districts of the city. Quota International of Iloilo, Inc. expresses its gratitude to all programme partners for spending precious time, treasures and talents to its success!
