The Awakening With QUOTA (part 2 of 2)

Irma Torres, Yuji Callejas

Yuji Callejas is my first scholar (2011-2012), a 10-year old hearing/speech-impaired and in Grade III at the Philippine School for the Deaf. The top choice among eight (8) aspirants from different levels, Yuji is entitled to a full scholarship package for the school year: transportation allowance, cash incentive every grading period, gifts for special talent and extra-curricular activities, cash and gifts in-kind during Christmas, moral and motivational support, if necessary. As I believe in discriminate projects with substance and continuity, and inspired by Yuji’s remarkable class standing every grading period, my next challenge is how to expand this program to reach out to more deserving students! Quota fills a vacuum in my simple life. A part of me was in deep slumber until I met Quota that awakened it to a glaring consciousness!
