Coolum Beach, Queensland, Australia
Bev is a valued member of QI of Coolum Beach – we always turn to her when we need a Quota answer!
Bev began her Quota life as a Charter member of QI of Noosa Beach in July 1974. As children, her two sons have always understood her going out to Quota functions but not if she was off to rehearsals for her theatre and dance performances – clearly they grasp that Quota does good things!
Quota gave Bev the confidence to speak up when asked, and she encourages others to likewise expand their personalities. Bev served in every capacity at Noosa, and when Noosa club folded and Bev transferred immediately to Coolum Beach, reaching further heights on the Quota International stage of service – Lieutenant Governor and District Governor positions. That’s why when we don’t know, we ask Bev!
Quota introduced Bev to international travel on a grand scale – with and without her official “bag carrier” (husband Rob) she has enjoyed trips to Boston, Calgary, New Orleans, India, Rotorua and various Australian destinations. She nominates New Delhi and Quota’s home and medical centre as the showcase to see how Quota makes in the lives of disadvantaged women and children.
Bev loves to visit other Clubs, Districts and Areas and especially where she is able to make new friends and enjoy time with ones she has known longer – she loves us here at Coolum Beach Quota and YES we love her too.
As well as her commitment to Quota, more recently Bev has become involved with the Red Cross, making trips on demand to flood–stricken areas of Queensland in January 2011. She also drives elderly people in her neighbourhood to doctor and hospital appointments, as required.
For a small (in stature) person, she has a giant heart and lots of caring to share!
