Ma. Aurora ( Bia ) A.Barros
Quota International of Manila South, Paranaque City, Philippines
Service with a Heart
Like most Quotarians, Bia’s passion for service and dedication is above board. As a former Treasurer, she offers her time and effort in assisting the current officer when the work becomes overloaded, particularly when the club undertakes special projects.
Manila South often holds multiple Medical Missions throughout the year. Bia would spearhead the seeking of donations from her contacts in the medical field, thus enabling the club to provide more service to its beneficiaries from the medicines she continue to solicit. As a follow through, and of her own accord, she would do inventory of the medicines before and after each mission.
All these she does with a keen sense of humor that makes each and every activity enjoyable for everyone, oftentimes leaving the group in stitches, making it pleasurable for the members to attend.
Once a year during the inevitable District Conference Fellowship Night performances, she proves to all how much of a trouper she really is. Despite intense reluctance due to having self – proclaimed 2 left feet, she forges on and participates wholeheartedly during practices and brings her A-game to her performance.
She prefers to serve in her own quiet way as a regular member so she avoids being an officer, but the members won’t hear any of it. Bia in her 8 years with QI of Manila South has been a Treasurer a number of years and is currently the club’s Vice President. Everyone hopes she will move up the ladder because she’s a blessing to our club!
