Quota International of Papakura, , New Zealand
Jennie has been a member of Quota International of Papakura since 2002 and over the years has held the position of Secretary; Treasurer; and Club Service Director; as well as being on the Antique Fair committee every year. She works quietly in the background and on a number of occasions has filled a role when another member is away.
Jennie is always willing to lend a helping hand whether it be a fundraising event; cooking; taking meals or offering transport to other members who are unwell; and volunteers for street appeals such as Pink Ribbon Day, Daffodil Day and Hospice Christmas Trees. She received our Club\’s inaugural \’Heart of Quota\’ award in 2010.
Jennie has worked as an accountant for over 30 years but has still found time to deliver \’meals – on – wheels\’ in our local community for many years and co-ordinates a small group of ladies who knit for newborns and young children and also sew winter garments which are then given to our Club to distribute to needy families.
Jennies compassion towards others exemplifies our D37 theme \’Helping Hands – Caring Hearts\’. We are proud to nominate her as a worthy recipient for our Volunteer of the Year.
