Azalea City Quota Club, Valdosta, GA, USA
Mrs. Katie Harvell demonstrated herself this past year as an “Outstanding” go-getter. She is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairperson of our Planning Committee. She does all this and holds down a full time position as a Nurse Practitioner
Katie took the ball and ran when she became Planning Committee Chair. Whatever I or other members of the club asked, she had a plan. She developed an amazing Web page for our club; “Azalea City Quota Club”. We use this Webpage during all our meetings to keep people informed.
She started our Facebook page and it’s taken off like wild fire. She was the backbone behind our Smoked meat fundraiser for the club. This funding will benefit Childrens’ Medical Services and miscellaneous ventures.
She implemented a year plan of activities for the club by month. We stayed on track and ensured the community knew who we and what we did for the Hearing Impaired and Disadvantaged and Abused Women and Children. Katie was instrumental in our first time ever Honorary Members program.
Katie was instrumental in the club receiving recognition for our contributions to the Haven, a shelter for Abused Women and children. She kept us in line for our monthly contribution of toiletries to the shelter. She also played an instrumental part in our club getting recognized for providing items to the Megan House and ensuring we once again participate in the back-to-school supplies for the Childrens’ Methodist Home.
Her committee set the plan in motion for our first cookbook. This cookbook not only featured recipes from club members, but also from charities we support.
She masterminded the Christmas Adopt-a-family program for the club. We contributed over $1500 gifts for a local family in the community who were just unfortunate to need the Haven’s shelter.
