TAREE 2430, N.S.W., Australia

When considering our nominee for Volunteer of the Year, one name came to mind, Carolyn Erickson, the woman who never says no; is always there to lend a hand, to donate a raffle item, to sit day after day in the street  selling raffle tickets, walking the streets asking businesses for donations or to create something worthwhile from nothing and always with a smile.

Since joining Quota in 2002 Carolyn has proved to be a team player, active in every project our club has undertaken, she works enthusiastically and tirelessly for Quota.

Carolyn is a regular volunteer for Westpac Rescue Helicopter Fund Raising, Meals on Wheels, delivering library books to housebound citizens. Through World Vision Carolyn has sponsored a “special” daughter Gharna for the past ten years; this year she has asked her family not to buy her a Christmas gift but instead to buy a goat, a water well, chickens and seeds for the people from Gharna’s village. These actions show her generosity, thoughtfulness and caring of others.

Carolyn’s great talent is her ability and willingness to make unlimited supplies of  practical handcrafted items for Quota gifts and raffles; knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery all beautifully made, these have raised thousands of dollars for Quota.

She is a dedicated wife and mother to four handsome sons, and has now become a hands-on grandmother to six lucky grandchildren.

We are delighted to have Carolyn as a member in our club, she has become our go-to person, we can count on her to give 120% to any project she undertakes and accomplishes in her own enthusiastic manner.

Taree Quotarians are proud to call her our Volunteer of the Year!
