Mariposa Quotarians Help a Local Shelter “Rise and Shine”

If you thought that a dish towel was nothing to get excited about then you haven’t seen how such a simple household item can make a difference to women whose lives are in havoc! The Green Haven Shelter in Orillia, Ontario, in addition to offering a safe alternative to an abusive home, also provides counseling, legal, and relocation services.

After speaking with the staff, members of Quota’s Mariposa “Silver Q” club learned that cleaning supplies were in short supply. Club members collected every type of cleaning product imaginable to help out the shelter, and they proved to be good shoppers, hitting all of the bargain tables and sales! These talented Quotarians also spent hours knitting, crocheting, and sewing homemade dishcloths for Green Haven.

Now the shelter’s residents have been scouring their house with the cleaning supplies that the Quota Club of Mariposa donated. This worthwhile project is a “shining” example of Quota’s impact on the community.
