Minneapolis Quota Club Combines Service and Fun

Members of the Minneapolis Quota club in Minnesota, U.S.A., came up with a GREAT IDEA when they hosted an evening of fellowship and fun to help local cancer victims.

Quota members gathered household items, jewelry, clothing, furniture, and sundries—from their own homes as well as local stores—and brought them to a “donation party” at the Hope Chest, a local resale shop that supports services for women with breast cancer. Over refreshments and lighthearted conversation, volunteers worked together to sort, tag, and place the items in appropriate departments.

When work was done, Quota members scoured the store for personal items to buy and take home. The evening ended with an impromptu fashion show to model clothing “finds” and a plan to hold more donation parties and volunteer efforts for the Hope Chest.
