Francis Bullington — Monroe, Monroe, LA
Date of Death: Dec 18,2009
Quota International of Monroe recently celebrated the life of Francis Bullington who died Dec. 18th,2009. Francis was a Quotarian for almost 25years. In recent years she was not able to attend functions and meetings due to post-polio syndrome. She chose to serve the club as long as physically possible by handling the calling committee duties. She would proudly refer to yourself as "the Quota Call Girl". Francis was a Speech Pathologist who began the first speech therapy and hearing program in the Monroe City School System in the 1950's. She was dedicated to special education, the first to train teachers in the region aspects of speech pathology. She organized the Louisiana Polio Support Group and served on the Easter Seals of Louisiana Board of Directors. Francis was always proud of her Quota membership and our "very smart and capable women". Last summer she was excited to introduce a young professional woman in the Dallas area to Quota in hopes she would choose membership and organize a new club. She always had a positive attitude, believed anything was possible, and encouraged our members with her support. We will miss the sparkle of her eyes.
